Roscoe Jigs

With the popularity of vertical jigging gaining ground, last fall we introduced a new series of jigs and named them “Roscoe”.  Of course we fished the jig a number of times during development and final testing of the product.  Every time we went out, Roscoe caught fish, lots of fish!

imageEven so that didn’t really prepare us for what happen on yesterday’s jigging trip.  We and several other boats fishing with us caught our limit of COBIA.  That’s right, cobia.  Turns out that not only is Roscoe highly effective on grouper, tuna, amber jacks and African pompano but he is a cobia slayer!  Our largest of the day was 65 pounds with most running in the 30 - 50 pound class.

Pictured above from Left to right, Jody Gay (me), Mike Becker, and Capt. Rick Croson owner of Living Water Charters and our host for the day.

Not only did we catch some nice cobia but we caught this nice gag grouper!  He was 43 inches long and weighed in the upper 30 pound range.  We bagged a nice African pompano, more amber jacks than my arms care to remember and 4 large sharks, bull & sand tigers!  There were four of us on the boat and we were fishing Roscoe jigs exclusively.

Not pictured is the fourth member of our trip, Randy Durham.  Randy owns Credence Pictures and was with us to capture some video for some projects he is working on, including one about Roscoe.

If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll try our new Roscoe Jigs.  They are available in 4 & 7 ounce version and three colors.  Then send in your stories and pictures, we’d love to hear from you!
